In 1997, I embarked on my Independent Professional Project (IPP) when I studied Creative Communications at Red River College. The scope of my project involved writing poems about the women in Pablo Picasso’s life. I wanted to learn more about the women behind the paintings and perhaps tell their sides of the stories.
I composed many poems—some good, some bad—and published the good ones in CV2, Zygote and Uptown as well as other local publications. These poems will also appear in a book of poetry I am working on.
Please click on the link Painted Women to read a few of the poems I selected. These poems were truly a labour of love. I hope you enjoy them!
